IR 67

Supplied byPolytechs- Last Updated on May 14, 2023

IR 67 by Polytechs is infrared thermal barrier masterbatch containing a 67 % concentration of finely dispersed infrared absorbing mineral additives in LDPE. It is used as a heat-retaining masterbatch for greenhouse tunnels. It gives improved thermal properties while maintaining a high level of film transparency. It is opaque in infrared region and clear in visible spectra. Film containing has a good clarity increasing heating in greenhouse during daylight hours. This heat is then trapped during the cooler night-time period by a fine dispersion of infrared absorbing additives which prevent much of the heat from escaping the tunnel. This gives a better overall temperature consistency, improving growth rates of produce. It is compatible with polyolefins like LDPE, LLDPE or EVA. It contains an especially very low amount of iron oxide. IR 67 should be added to thick PE films (approx. 150 mm) at 8% and at 10-12% for thin films (under 70 mm).
