Accicure® MBT by PMC Group is a 2-mercaptobenzthiazole. Acts as an accelerator. Confers on the vulcanizates low modulus and excellent ageing properties. Is too scorchy to use with appreciable loading of furnace black. Gives fast curing high-modulus rubbers in combination with guanidine accelerators. Accicure® MBT is popular for quick curing molded articles when boosted with thiuram or a dithiocarbamate. Caused only slight discoloration on exposure to light and has useful peptizing properties.
