MAPICO™ Black (845) by Oxerra (formerly Cathay Industries) is a very fine, high-purity synthetic magnetite (Fe3O4). It is a high-tinting strength, permanent, non-bleeding and inert black pigment with a blue tint. It is produced by precipitation to a cubical shape. It is designed for use in magnetic applications where consistent particle size and magnetic properties are required.
- It is used in plastics, rubber and other specialty applications.
- It can replace carbon blacks in formulations where floating or flooding is a problem.
- It meets ASTM C979-82 standards to color products made with cement.
- It can be used in packaging or articles that come in contact with food (21CFR).
- MAPICO™ Black (845) is alkali-, chemical & weather resistant, and stable under exposure to sunlight & UV radiation.
