Accelerator 553S by Nouryon is a solution of 1.9% metal complexes for curing unsaturated polyester resins in combination with organic peroxide at room and elevated temperatures. This cobalt(II) 2-ethylhexanoate in solvent mixture is recommended for pre-acceleration of vinylester resins to avoid foaming during cure when using standard MEKP. Accelerator 553S is used in continuous laminating, resin transfer molding, filament winding, hand lay-up and spray up. The shelf life of this product is 6 months.
