Carbon Black 8405

Carbon Black 8405 by Huntsman is a fluffy-grade carbon black pigment used in plastics. Possesses a blue tone, relatively low oil absorption, easy dispersibility and very good coloring or tinting vs. lampblack and a very high jetness index relative to other carbon blacks and is conductive to electricity. Carbon Black 8405 exhibits stability to sunlight and UV radiation, and resistance to alkali. Does not contain any calcium sulfate. Meets ASTM D209 standard specification for lampblack pigment and complies with all respects of ASTM C-979 standards for integral concrete colors except it effects air-entrainment. Also complies with specifications: TT-L-70, TT-P-350 and NBS Color 318. Recommended, owing to its sufficient purity, for use in articles that come in contact with food (21CFR), but not suitable for the direct coloration of pet food or cosmetics. Used for plastics and rubbers applications.
