Talc. It is produced from high purity ore, which provides low iron content, low surface area and superior color in dry form as well as when incorporated with resins. It is platy, hydrophobic, nonabrasive and chemically inert. Used in appearance and natural polypropylene, where improved tensile strength, flexural modulus, heat distortion temperature, increased stiffness, reduced shrinkage, and lower compounding costs are required. Can also be used in thermoplastics, thermosets, TPO’s, TPE’s rubber compounds. The low level amino functional silane treatment helps aid dispersion and couple the mineral with various resin systems, most notably polyolefins.
