VULCAN® XC500 by Cabot is a conductive carbon black. It is Cabot’s flagship product from the XC-family of conductive carbon blacks.
  • It provides excellent conductivity, cleanliness and consistency while dispersing easily into the polymer, making it an easy-to-process compound with good surface smoothness.
  • It possesses strong performance in both medium voltage (MV) and high voltage (HV) semicon shields for power cables.
  • It allows extended screen pack life during compounding due to its high cleanliness, thereby enhancing compounding efficiency and effectiveness.
  • VULCAN® XC500 offers protection against premature cable failure, extremely low sulfur levels and ionic impurities.
  • It imparts good retention of mechanical properties of the underlying polymer.
  • It finds application in conductor-, insulation- and bonded shield used in medium-voltage power cables.
