CAB-O-SIL® CLARUS 3160 by Cabot is fumed silica. It has high-surface-area, small aggregate size and primary particle size. It exhibits a high degree of cleanliness and consistency. It possesses low contaminants and grit levels which lead to improved optical properties. It offers the highest cured Y transmission and lowest yellowing. It enhances performance by providing high levels of reinforcement, transparency and minimal discoloration due to aging. CAB-O-SIL® CLARUS 3160 is suitable for formulations that require elevated mechanical properties coupled with a high level of transparency. It is used in high-end transparent liquid silicone rubber (LSR) applications.
