Chemical foaming agent. Characterized by endothermic decomposition beginning @ 145°C. Used for polystyrene extrusion applications where very fine and uniform cells are required. It is recommended for nucleation of direct gassed polystyrene foams. Maximum gas yields are achieved when processing temperatures of 185- 230°C ( 365-446°F) are reached. Injection molding usage level is 0.5- 2.0% . Usage level of extrusion is 0.2- 1.5% for nucleation and 0.5- 2.5% for chemical foam.
