XIBOND™ 920 by aurorium is a styrene and glycidyl methacrylate random copolymer. Acts as a chain extender, compatibilizer, coupling agent and viscosity- & surface modifier. It is designed to improve the blend morphology of specific polymer blends. Chain extender connects polymer chains together to raise the molecular weight, melt strength, processability, flow properties and thickness. Compatibilizer optimizes the interfacial tension and morphology against high stresses. As a coupling agent, it provides low viscosity, improved creep and tensile properties. The viscosity modification lowers the molding temperature and provides a better surface appearance. Surface modifier changes the polarity of a product leading to a different surface tension of the polymer matrix and modifying the adhesion properties of the polymer. It has an excellent affinity with polycondensates resulting in a branched structure that offers optimal processing conditions. XIBOND™ 920 can be processed using extrusion in all types of regular polymer processing equipment. It is compatible with polyethylene terephthalate (PET), polylactic acid (PLA), polybutylene terephthalate (PBT) and also recycled materials. Recommended dosage level is 0.1-5 %.
