Akrochem® PEG-8000 by Akrochem is a high molecular weight polyethylene glycol used as activator and lubricant in mineral filler rubber products. It improves flow for extrusion in all EPDM and promotes microwave reception in non-black compounds. It activates silica and clay to enhance state- or rate of cure. It offers release from warm metal surfaces like internal mixers, mills calendar rolls, extruder dies and molds. Akrochem® PEG-8000 reduces the bloom of acceleration and other polar materials from EPDM. Recommended dosage level in natural- and synthetic elastomers is 0.5-5 phr.
