Dyneon™ PTFE Micropowder TF 9205

Supplied by3M- Last Updated on Apr 17, 2026

Dyneon™ PTFE Micropowder TF 9205 by 3M is a low molecular weight, PTFE-based excellent rheological modifier (thickening agent) for fluid systems and highly hydrophobic filler. It is produced by thermal degradation. This additive is based on rigid particle morphology.
  • It improves non-stick properties, reduces coefficient of friction and increases wear resistance of matrix material.
  • It exhibits very good metering behavior and can be easily incorporated into other materials even in dry blends.
  • It lowers coefficient of friction when blended into other polymers or liquids and improves non-stick properties when blended into formulations.
  • This additive offers broad chemical and thermal stability.
  • It can be used to improve abrasion resistance.
  • It increases viscosity when added to liquids and this feature is less temperature-dependent than many other modifiers.
  • The typical volume loading quantity varies between <1% and 20% depending on the selected matrix and the desired properties.
  • It is suitable for polyacetal, polyamide, polycarbonate, polyester, polyimide, polysulfide and polysulfone.
  • It is also, used in fluoroelastomers, neoprenes, nitriles and silicones.
  • Dyneon™ PTFE Micropowder TF 9205 is used at concentrations typically from 5 to 20%.
