Wetting Agents for Plastic Compounds

Gardobond® Additive H 7488 distributed by DKSH is an additive used as wetting agent during the PET recycling process. It is based on a special blend of surfactants with a high wetting power and a high affinity with plastic material.

• It is able to lower the solid-liquid surface tension and to optimize the floating process between PET and PE/HDPE.
• In this way any air bubbles deposited on flake surface are removed allowing the complete wetting of the substrate.
• It possesses the ability to inhibit foaming and can be used in a wide range of temperature.
• Gardobond® Additive H 7488 is available in Malaysia.

Licowax® OP powder distributed by DKSH is a partly saponified ester wax of montanic acids. It is used in masterbatch & compounders and polymer producers. Licowax® OP powder is available in APAC region (South Korea, Malaysia, Vietnam and Thailand).

Ceridust® 9615 A distributed by DKSH is a slip and rub resistance additive in all kind of printing ink and coating systems. It is a micronized blend of polyethylene and amide wax. It is used in masterbatch, compounders and polymer producers. Ceridust® 9615 A is available in APAC region (Indonesia, Thailand, Malaysia and Vietnam).

SURFYNOL® TG distributed by DKSH is a low-foaming, nonionic wetting agent for pigment and substrate wetting in aqueous systems. It is recommended for use in waterborne coatings and other pigmented aqueous systems.

• It also provides excellent wetting as well as excellent foam control to coagulant baths for both natural and synthetic rubber dipping process and in the preparation of latex tank compounds.
• SURFYNOL® TG is available in APAC region (Indonesia, Myanmar, Thailand and Philippines).

Vikoflex® 4050 Epoxidized Vegetable Oil by Cargill is a low temperature octyl epoxy ester plasticizer. It also acts as a wetting agent and acid neutralizer. It provides improved heat and light stability in vinyl formulations.

• It offers high oxirane oxygen content and low viscosity.
• It has good color and low odor.
• It is mainly used in plastisols and organosols, flexible, semi-flexible & rigid PVC formulations, rotation castings, slush moldings, dip compounds and calendaring films.
• It has a shelf life of 36 months

HORDAMER® PE 02 by BYK is a wetting and dispersing agent for thermoplastic color masterbatches. It is a primary polyethylene dispersion containing an anionic emulsifier. It is used in the underwater pelletizing of thermoplastic granulated material (TPE, TPU, EVA) and forms a protective layer covering the granules, thereby generating non-sticking and free-flowing granulated materials. Recommended dosage level is 0.2-5% additive (as supplied) based upon the amount of water in the cooling circuit. HORDAMER® PE 02 is listed in REACH Regulation (EC) No 1907/2006, EINECS, TSCA, DSL, AICS, PICCS, IECSC, ENCS, NZIoC and ECSI. It complies with EU Directive 2011/65/EC (RoHS 2), EU Directive 2002/96/EC (WEEE), EU Directive 94/62/EC (Packaging Waste), CONEG Toxics in Packaging, Regulation (EU) No. 10/2011 , USA 21 CFR 177.1520 ‘Olefin polymers’ and China GB9685-2016, table A.1 ‘Plastics’. It has a shelf life of 15 months.

Glycolube® SML-20 by Arxada is a high HLB surfactant. It also acts as a lubricant, viscosity modifier, wetting agent and O/W emulsifier. It is an effective anti-fog agent in polyvinyl chloride (PVC) and an anti-static agent in polyolefins.

• It is suitable for use in synthetic fiber finishing oil formulations.
• It is recommended for plastic, household and textile applications.
• Glycolube® SML-20 is listed in TSCA.

Dioctyl Phosphate (P204) by Hangzhou Qianyang Technology acts as an antistatic and surface wetting agents. It can be used as a synthetic intermediate in the production of organic solvents and surfactants and can serve as a substitute for fatty alcohol phosphates. Dioctyl Phosphate (P204) is used in plastics and textile auxiliaries.

ECO Tween™ 20 by Croda is a 100% bio-based, non-ionic surfactant used as versatile O/W emulsifier, dispersant, adjuvant, wetting agent and solubilizer. It is easy to handle and offers manufacturing flexibility. It is compatible with acrylic, vinylic, epoxy, natural oils, waxes, esters, polyesters and polyurethane. Tween™ 20 is used in liquid masterbatches. Complies with REACH, EU 10/2011, FDA (175.105) and Swiss Ordinance A.

Crodamol™ ML by Croda improves pigment wetting, flow and dispersion. It is a low color ester used as an effective carrier fluid in liquid color concentrates. It reduces pigment re-agglomeration. It is designed for PMMA and liquid masterbatches. Crodamol™ ML is compatible with acrylic, vinyl, UV and polyolefin system.
