Wetting Agents for Plastic Compounds

Gardobond® Additive H 7488 distributed by DKSH is an additive used as wetting agent during the PET recycling process. It is based on a special blend of surfactants with a high wetting power and a high affinity with plastic material.

• It is able to lower the solid-liquid surface tension and to optimize the floating process between PET and PE/HDPE.
• In this way any air bubbles deposited on flake surface are removed allowing the complete wetting of the substrate.
• It possesses the ability to inhibit foaming and can be used in a wide range of temperature.
• Gardobond® Additive H 7488 is available in Malaysia.

HORDAMER® PE 02 by BYK is a wetting and dispersing agent for thermoplastic color masterbatches. It is a primary polyethylene dispersion containing an anionic emulsifier. It is used in the underwater pelletizing of thermoplastic granulated material (TPE, TPU, EVA) and forms a protective layer covering the granules, thereby generating non-sticking and free-flowing granulated materials. Recommended dosage level is 0.2-5% additive (as supplied) based upon the amount of water in the cooling circuit. HORDAMER® PE 02 is listed in REACH Regulation (EC) No 1907/2006, EINECS, TSCA, DSL, AICS, PICCS, IECSC, ENCS, NZIoC and ECSI. It complies with EU Directive 2011/65/EC (RoHS 2), EU Directive 2002/96/EC (WEEE), EU Directive 94/62/EC (Packaging Waste), CONEG Toxics in Packaging, Regulation (EU) No. 10/2011 , USA 21 CFR 177.1520 ‘Olefin polymers’ and China GB9685-2016, table A.1 ‘Plastics’. It has a shelf life of 15 months.

Licowax® OP powder distributed by DKSH is a partly saponified ester wax of montanic acids. It is used in masterbatch & compounders and polymer producers. Licowax® OP powder is available in APAC region (South Korea, Malaysia, Vietnam and Thailand).

Ceridust® 9615 A distributed by DKSH is a slip and rub resistance additive in all kind of printing ink and coating systems. It is a micronized blend of polyethylene and amide wax. It is used in masterbatch, compounders and polymer producers. Ceridust® 9615 A is available in APAC region (Indonesia, Thailand, Malaysia and Vietnam).

MARK IC 2052 by Raj Speciality Additives is wetting- and dispersing agent. It is designed for PU system, epoxy resin, UV system, PVC plastisol and ambient curing resin system. Recommended usage level is 20% based on organic pigment, 5.0% inorganic pigment and 1.5% titanium dioxide.

Phenyl PEG POSS® Heterocage by Hybrid Plastics is a plasticizer and wetting agent. It is a hybrid molecule with a rigid inorganic silsesquioxane at the core and organic phenyl and PEG groups attached at the corners of the cage. It is a rheological diluent which lowers the viscosity of high-solids systems. It is a molecular union of both functional chemistry and inorganic-organic compositions. Provides gloss effect, mechanical strengths, high temperature stability and dispersion through pi-pi interactions.

Aminopropyl PEG POSS® Heteroleptic by Hybrid Plastics is a wetting agent. It is a molecular union of both functional chemistry and inorganic-organic compositions. It acts as a dispersant and aid in plasticization. It is a hybrid molecule with an inorganic silsesquioxane core and organic aminopropyl groups. It increases gloss effects, enhanced hydrophilicity, mechanical strength, dispersion and temperature stability.

• It is reactive with epoxy, isocyanate, and anhydride chemistry.
• Aminopropyl PEG POSS® Heteroleptic is suitable for resins and monomers.

PEG POSS® by Hybrid Plastics is a wetting, leveling, and gloss additive. It is a plasticizer in acrylic resins. It is a hybrid molecule with an inorganic silsesquioxane at the core and methoxylated polyethylene glycol groups attached at the corners of the cage. It offers excellent dispersion. PEG POSS® is used as a lubricant which provides high film strength to reduce friction and wear. Complies with TSCA regulation.

SUPERSPERSE® 102 by Eagle Specialty Products is a versatile wetting, dispersing and stabilizing agent for water-reducible and emulsion systems. Its recommended use level is 1-3% for inorganic pigment and 2-15% for organic and transparent pigment. It is an APEO-free product. SUPERSPERSE® 102 is also compatible with latex emulsions, epoxies, water-reducible alkyds, polyesters, acrylics, organic and inorganic pigments such as titanium dioxide, carbon blacks, organic yellows, organic reds, organic oranges and extender pigments.

Glycolube® SML-20 by Arxada is a high HLB surfactant. It also acts as a lubricant, viscosity modifier, wetting agent and O/W emulsifier. It is an effective anti-fog agent in polyvinyl chloride (PVC) and an anti-static agent in polyolefins.

• It is suitable for use in synthetic fiber finishing oil formulations.
• It is recommended for plastic, household and textile applications.
• Glycolube® SML-20 is listed in TSCA.
