Vulcanizing Agents (Accelerators) for Plastic Compounds

SOLVENTO DCP by Solvento is a high-purity dicumyl peroxide. It is a crosslinking agent for polyolefins (PE, EVA) and as a vulcanizing agent. It acts as a curing agent for unsaturated polyesters and melt flow index modifier for polypropylene. It is designed for EPDM, natural rubber and nitrile rubber. It is used in wire & cable. It is REACH registered. SOLVENTO DCP has a shelf life of 6 months.

Acmecure DTDM by Acmechem is a vulcanizing agent for semi and EV cure system. It is also a sulphur donor. It provides excellent heat-aging resistance in NR/SR compounds. It offers improved physical properties, lower compression set, excellent reversion resistance, no sulfur blooming, no contact staining with heavy metals and higher processing safety (scorch).

Ethyl Tellurac® by Vanderbilt Chemicals is an accelerator based on dithiocarbamates. It offers high modulus vulcanization. It is suitable for rubbers such as NR, SBR, NBR and EPDM. It is generally used with thiazole modifiers. Ethyl Tellurac® is particularly active in IIR compounds.

Rhenogran® MBS-80 by Rhein Chemie Additives (Lanxess Group) is an accelerator for the vulcanization of natural- and synthetic rubbers. It causes a considerably long scorch time, high processing safety and a fast cure. It is used as primary accelerator for the low-sulfur vulcanization or in combination with dithiocarbamate and thiuram accelerators. It provides good aging resistance and compression set. It contains ethylene propylene diene rubber (EPDM) as a binder. In conjunction with Rhenogran® TMTM-80, gives very high degree of cross-linking. It finds application in treads, carcasses, conveyor belts, floor coverings, footwear and cable sheathings. Rhenogran® MBS-80 has a shelf life of 2 years.

Rhenogran® ZDEC-80 by Rhein Chemie Additives (Lanxess Group) is an ultra-accelerator for the vulcanization of natural- and synthetic rubber such as EPDM and SBR. It possesses high level of processing safety and offers very good tensile and resilience properties. It is suitable for technical articles, footwear and cables.

Rhenogran® TMTM-80 by Rhein Chemie Additives (Lanxess Group) is an accelerator for the very rapid and scorch-safe vulcanization of natural- and synthetic rubbers. It also functions as curing agent for low-sulfur vulcanization. It provides good ageing resistance and contains ethylene propylene diene rubber (EPDM) as a binder. It is also used as secondary accelerator are of great technical importance, in combination with sulfenamide and mercapto. It is suitable in carcasses, treads, cable insulation, transparent articles, ebonite, light-colored and white vulcanizates. Rhenogran® TMTM-80 has a shelf life of 2 years.

Rhenogran® DOTG-70 by Rhein Chemie Additives (Lanxess Group) is an accelerator for the vulcanization of natural- and synthetic rubber. It causes very slow onset of cure and a relatively slow rate of cure. It is recommended to be used with anti-oxidant, as it causes strong reversion if used alone. In combination with mercapto, sulfenamide, thiuram and di-thiocarbamate accelerators, reciprocal activation and secondary acceleration can be achieved. It enhances cross-linking density, rate of cure and can obtained good mechanical properties and ageing resistance. It contains ethylene propylene diene rubber (EPDM) as a binder. It is designed for technical articles (especially thick-walled components), band tires, damping elements, roller coverings and cable sheathing. Rhenogran® DOTG-70 has a shelf life of 2 years.

Rhenogran® TMTD-80 by Rhein Chemie Additives (Lanxess Group) is an accelerator for the very rapid but scorch-safe vulcanization of natural- and synthetic rubbers. It is used as a primary accelerator in combination with sulfur, as a secondary accelerator in conjunction with thiazoles and as a curing agent without sulfur. It provides good ageing property and contains ethylene propylene diene rubber (EPDM) as a binder. It finds application in heat resistant mechanical rubber components, ebonite, cable coverings and insulation. Rhenogran® TMTD-80 has a shelf life of 2 years.

Rhenogran® ZDMC-80 by Rhein Chemie Additives (Lanxess Group) is an accelerator for the rapid vulcanization of natural- and synthetic rubber such as NBR, SBR and EPDM. It provides very good tensile and resilience properties. It is recommended to add antioxidants for improving the resistance to aging. It offers longer scorch time and a faster total curing time than Rhenogran® ZDBC-80, ZDEC-80 and ZEPC-80. The addition of thiuram and thiazole accelerators retards the start of the vulcanization and increases processing safety. It is also used in small amounts for secondary acceleration and for the activation of mixes. It contains ethylene propylene diene rubber as a binder. It is applicable in bright-colored articles, transparent articles and cables. Rhenogran® ZDMC-80 has a shelf life of 2 years.

Rhenogran® DPG-80 by Rhein Chemie Additives (Lanxess Group) is an accelerator for the vulcanization of natural- and synthetic rubber. It provides a very long scorch time and a relatively slow full cure and causes slight dis-coloration. It strongly activates accelerators of the mercapto class. In IIR and EPDM, it has only little effect. It is applicable in tires and technical rubber articles of all kind. It has a shelf life of 2 years.
