Surfactants for Plastic Compounds

POLYSTEP® A-16-22 distributed by DKSH is a biodegradable, anionic surfactant based on sodium salt of branched alkylbenzene sulfonic acid. It is suitable for vinyl chloride and vinylidene chloride.

• It is used in styrene butadiene rubber (SBR), styrene acrylic latexes and emulsion polymerization.

POLYSTEP® B-11 distributed by DKSH is a biodegradable, non-toxic, anionic surfactant used in the manufacture of latex. It aids in the control of latex particle size.

• It is suitable for most polymer systems, especially with vinyl chloride and styrene-butadiene emulsions.

POLYSTEP® TSP-2580 distributed by DKSH is a biodegradable, polyarylphenol ethoxylated non-ionic sufactant. It provides mechanical & freeze-thaw stability, water resistance and adhesion in emulsion polymerization systems.

VORASURF™ DC 5950LV Additive by Dow is a low cyclic, low volatile, medium efficiency silicone surfactant. Designed for the production of a wide range of flexible slabstock polyurethane foams, modified polyether and MDI viscoelastic foams.

• Provides exceptional performances for fire retardant foams (FR), combustible modified polyethers (CME) and high density foams.
• Offers enhanced control of flexible foam physical properties.
• It is compliant with stringent low cyclic requirements.
• It is suitable for bedding and furniture foam.
• Recommended dosage level is 1 pphp for conventional foam and 0.5 pphp for CME foam.
• VORASURF™ DC 5950LV Additive has a shelf life of 18 months.

VORASURF™ DC 5951LV Additive by Dow is a high efficiency, low cyclics, low volatile silicone surfactant. It is primarily aimed at EO-rich polyol-based MDI/TDI systems also known as supersoft systems. Offers enhanced control of flexible foam physical properties.

• Suitable for low- to medium-density conventional foams produced using a wide range of auxiliary blowing agents such as carbon dioxide, acetone, or vacuum.
• Designed for the production of flexible slabstock polyurethane and MDI viscoelastic foam.
• VORASURF™ DC 5951LV Additive is used in bedding and furniture foam.
• Recommended dosage level is 1 pphp for conventional foam and 1-2 pphp for TDI/MDI.
• It has a shelf life of 18 months.

VORASURF™ SF 2937 Additive by Dow is silicone surfactant for producing rigid polyurethane foams. It enhances k-factor of rigid foam. It is suitable for HC blown formulations with solubility challenges (PIR) and HFO blown formulations with chemical stability challenges.

• Applicable for HC, HFO, HFC & water-blown systems used in construction and appliances, pour-in-place and continuous insulation panel.
• It is also used in closed-cell spray foam and microcellular printer roller.
• VORASURF™ SF 2937 Additive complies with REACH, TSCA 12b, DSL, IECSC, ENCS, KECI, PICCS, EINECS and TCSI.
• It has a shelf life of 720 days.

VORASURF™ DC 198LV Additive by Dow is a high efficiency, low volatile, low cyclics silicone surfactant. Offers enhanced control of flexible foam physical properties.

• Used in the production of molded & flexible slabstock polyurethane foams, open cell spray foams, MDI viscoelastic systems and one component foams.
• It is compliant with stringent low cyclics requirements.
• It is suggested for bedding and furniture foam.
• Recommended dosage level is 1 pphp.
• VORASURF™ DC 198LV Additive has a shelf life of 18 months.

VORASURF™ DC 5906LV Additive by Dow is a medium to high efficiency, low volatile silicone surfactant. Designed for production of flexible slabstock polyurethane foam, flame retardant modified foams and MDI viscoelastic foam.

• Possesses a wide processing latitude and and lower viscosity for easier handling.
• Compatible with auxiliary blowing agents such as carbon dioxide.
• Offers enhanced control of flexible foam physical properties.
• It is recommended for bedding and furniture foam.
• VORASURF™ DC 5906LV Additive is compliant with stringent low-cycle requirements.
• Recommended dosage level is 1-2% pphp.

Tetraethylenepentamine (TEPA) by Dow is a mineral processing aid, epoxy curing agent, corrosion inhibitor, surfactant and asphalt & textile additive. It is a mixture of four different pentamines; a linear (L-TETA), a branched (AE-TAEA), and two cyclic (AE-DAEP & AEPEEDA) pentamines all with close boiling points. Tetraethylenepentamine (TEPA) is suitable for hydrocarbon purification, lube oil & fuel additives and polyamide resins.

ECO Tween™ 40 by Croda is a 100% bio-based, non-ionic surfactant used as versatile O/W emulsifier, dispersing agent, functional carrier fluid and solubilizer. It is easy to handle with good environmental and health profile. It is compatible with acrylic, vinylic, epoxy, natural oils, waxes, esters, polyesters and polyurethane. ECO Tween™ 40 finds application in liquid colorants. Complies with REACH, EU 10/2011 and FDA (175.105).
