Deodorants for Plastic Compounds

STRUKTOL® RP 17 by Struktol is an odor neutralizing/masking process additive. It is developed as an odor mask for PE, PP, WPC and various rubber products. This product is suitable for compounding, extrusion or molding to eliminate or mask undesirable odors often associated with the addition of post-industrial or post-consumer recyclable streams or other ingredients used in compounding. STRUKTOL® RP 17 applicable for automotive applications. At low dosages it tends to neutralize odor while at higher dosages it will impart a fresh clean odor. The typical dosage level for plastics is 1-3% and rubber is 2-5%.

LDV-8010™ by CAI Performance Additives is a porous ABS-based deodorant that efficiently absorbs unwanted organics during the compounding process. This highly efficient masterbatch fits easily in extrusion applications. It efficiently reduces odor and VOC in PC/ABS and ABS especially modified & compounded resins while minimizing environmental impact. It is cost-effective, safe, odorless and non-toxic additive for plastic compounds. It does not negatively impact mechanical or aesthetic properties. S-34 by Japan Antibacterial Research Institute is a deodorization and decomposition agent. It chemically removes odors such as ammonia and trimethylamine as well as hydrogen sulfide and methyl mercaptan. It is suitable for PE, PP, general-purpose olefins, engineering plastic applications.

S-002 (nano) by Japan Antibacterial Research Institute is a decomposing and deodorizing agent. It chemically removes odors such as ammonia and trimethylamine as well as hydrogen sulfide and methyl mercaptan. It is suitable for PE, PP, general-purpose olefins and engineering plastic applications.

S-028 (micro) by Japan Antibacterial Research Institute is a general purpose decomposable deodorant additive. It chemically removes amine-based odors such as hydrogen sulfide and methyl mercaptan, as well as ammonia and trimethylamine. S-028 (micro) is used in PE, PP, general-purpose olefins and engineering plastic applications.

O-460 by Japan Antibacterial Research Institute is a general purpose decomposing and deodorizing additive. It can effectively decompose and remove VOCs such as formaldehyde, acetaldehyde as well as amine-based odors such as ammonia and fatty acid-based odors such as acetic acid. It uses a chemical reaction to decompose and remove malodorous components.

• The active ingredient regenerates, and the effect lasts without the malodorous component being re-released.
• It is suitable for PE, PP, general-purpose olefins and engineering plastic.
• O-460 can be used in a wide range of applications including automobile interior materials, building materials, films, and textiles.

OS-310 by Japan Antibacterial Research Institute is a multi-deodorizing additive for all odors. It eliminates mixed odors of VBN, VOC and VSC. This decomposer is excellent in deodorizing a wide range of amines such as ammonia and fatty acids. It is suitable for PE, PP, general-purpose olefins and engineering plastic applications.

BYK-MAX OR 4207 by BYK is VOC-free, safe, easy to handle, granulated, anti-odor agent for the use of PP from household waste to reduce unpleasant odors. It contains a mixture of odor-absorbing substances that neutralize the odor of substances such as hydrogen sulfide, amines, and ammonia. This additive is limited to a maximum dosage of 2% and MFR of less than 20 g/10 min (190°C). The recommended level is 0.5-2% additive (as supplied) based upon the total formulation. BYK-MAX OR 4207 is added via volumetric or gravimetric dosing units during processing in standard extrusion, blow, and injection molding machines. Recommended for polypropylene products with high recycled content. The shelf life of this product is 12 months.

BYK-MAX OR 4206 by BYK is a granulated, anti-odor agent for use of PE from household waste to reduce unpleasant odors. It contains a mixture of odor-absorbing substances that neutralize the odor of substances such as hydrogen sulfide, amines and ammonia. This safe and easy-to-handle additive is added via volumetric or gravimetric dosing units during processing in standard extrusion, blow and injection molding machines. Recommended dosage level is 0.5-2% additive (as supplied) based upon the total formulation. BYK-MAX OR 4206 is suitable for polyethylene products with high recycled content. The shelf life of this product is 12 months.
