BRB Launches Bi-functional Organosilane for Enhanced Crosslinking and Adhesion
Last update on Feb 11, 2025
introduces , a bi-functional organosilane with versatile applications. Combining six hydrolysable groups with a secondary amine, it serves as a crosslinker, providing stability in various uses like encapsulating urethane prepolymers. BRB Silanil® 829 is specified by CAS number 82985-35-1.Coupling Agent with Low Reactivity for Enhanced Stability
BRB Silanil® 829 is well-suited for adhesion promotion, functioning as a coupling agent between organic and inorganic substances, and in certain applications, it also contributes to mechanical properties, e.g. in furan or phenolic foundry mould making.
Due to its secondary amine group, BRB Silanil® 829 exhibit lower reactivity, which results in longer stability.

Key applications of BRB Silanil® 829 include:
-
Adhesion promoter for systems based on, for example, polyurethane, epoxy, phenolic, furan, melamine, acrylic, silicone, PVB, EVA, PBT, PVAc,
PVC , polyamide, polyimide, and other organic resins containing functional groups on inorganic substrates such as glass, aluminum, and metal. - Coupling agent for fiberglass-reinforced composites to improve mechanical properties.
- Mineral filler treatment.
