Polymer additives for Footwear

Ionphase™ fSTAT2 by Cargill is a permanent and non-migrating polymeric anti-static agent. It is designed for general extrusion applications with high melt flow polyolefins (PP, LDPE, LLDPE and mLLDPE) and injection molding of SEBS. Used in stretch films and shoe soles. It is a cost-effective solution in multilayer designs and can be used in high temperature processes.

• It is color stable at high processing temperatures.
• It offers good film transparency and improved sealing strength compared to other permanent solutions.
• It is humidity independent and provides effective performance, even in thin surface layers.
• It exhibits low surface resistivity, improved non-charging properties & reduced charge decay time.
• Ionphase™ fSTAT2 is suitable for electrostatic discharge (ESD) protected films & bags, FIBC & octabin liners, protective films, thermoformed sheets and electronic packaging.
• It has a shelf life of 730 days.

Casilane HP-669 by Thomas Swan is a sulphur silane coupling agent. It acts as a chemical intermediate and crosslinking agent. It also acts as a vulcanizing agent and activator in the rubber industry due to the presence of four sulphur atoms in its structure.

• It enhances performance by incorporating fillers like silica, fiberglass, talc, mica, and clay, boosting filler–rubber interaction to increase abrasion resistance and overall durability.
• It is suitable for use in NR, IR, SBR, BR, NBR, and EPDM rubber compounds.
• It features poly-sulphidic alkyl structures that align with sulphur deoxidation rates, resisting oxidative degradation while improving heat resistance and crack fatigue performance.
• It reduces puncture risk, rolling resistance, fuel consumption, and carbon-dioxide emissions, supporting carbon reduction efforts and ensuring environmental compliance.
• It acts as a reinforcing agent, enhancing filler performance and significantly improving rubber’s abrasion resistance.
• Casilane HP-669 boosts cut and pressure resistance while reducing hysteresis loss and moisture absorption, thereby enhancing mechanical strength, adhesion, thermal aging resistance, modulus, and flex life.

AKSIL™ 180 (P) distributed by DKSH is a precipitated silica-based reinforcement agent. It is a pure white, inert, chemically balanced, non-toxic, synthetic and amorphous material.

• It imparts excellent tear, abrasion, tensile, hardness and modulus properties.
• It increases overall vulcanizate properties for increased durability.
• It reduces carbon footprint to encourage eco-friendly processes.
• AKSIL™ 180 (P) is recommended for tire, rubber, rice dehusking rollers, footwear, shoe soles and miscellaneous rubber goods application.

OCTAMINE® stabilizer distributed by DKSH is an amine-based rubber antioxidant. It is suitable for EPDM, neoprene and nitrile rubbers.

• It provides very slight discoloring and staining.
• It is used in sulfur cure systems and provides excellent protection against degradation due to heat, oxygen and flexing.
• It shows non-blooming before and after cure.
• It gives bin scorch resistance in neoprene.
• OCTAMINE® stabilizer is used in tire carcass, footwear, molded heels & soles, proofing, sponges, automotive rubber, wire jackets, insulation and floor tile.
• It is FDA compliant.

Anti-wear agent NM-6 distributed by DKSH is a pelletized formulation with 50% active ingredient dispersed in thermoplastic polyurethane (TPU). It is particularly developed for TPU shoe’s sole compounds, helps to improving the final items abrasion resistance and decrease the abrasion value in the thermoplastics.

• It is eco-friendly and imparts the processing performance and final items appearance.
• It has no influence on hardness and color.
• Anti-wear agent NM-6 is available in United Kingdom, Spain, Portugal, France, Germany, Poland, Denmark, Sweden, Iceland, Latvia, Finland, Norway, Estonia, Lithuania, Belgium, Netherlands, Luxembourg, Switzerland, Austria, Czech Republic, Slovakia, Hungary, Romania, Bulgaria, Greece, Slovenia, Croatia, Serbia/Monteneg and Israel.
• Recommended dosage level is 0.5-5.0%.
• It has a shelf life of 24 months from date of production.

ACPS high solid distributed by DKSH is a special blend of ultra-high exfoliated graphite/NPG and carbon black present in a paste form. It is easy to disperse in polyester resins (UPUR) and epoxy vinyl ester (EVER) and imparts thermal and electric conductivity.

• It allows reaching the system's percolation threshold at low dosage levels.
• Recommended dosage level is 3-6% over resin.
• ACPS high solid has a shelf life of 12 months.
• This product is available in Asia Pacific markets and North America.

SILMAPROCESS AP2700 by Silma can be used as a processing aid to increase stability & trough output of the compound during extrusion or injection molding to enhance release & surface quality and reduce cycle time & torque.

• It is a super high molecular weight siloxane finely dispersed on polypropylene carrier.
• It increases scratch & abrasion resistance of PP/TPO and TPE compound, also filled talc or glass fibers.
• It is suitable for various application fields like automotive interiors, electrical appliance, home & office furnitures, building & construction and consumer goods.
• It is recommended for use in SEBS compound for the production of shoe soles and ergonomic hand grips applications.
• It can be used at a dosage from 0.5% till 5% in extrusion or injection molding.
• If used as a processing aid suggested dosage is between 0.5% to 1% and when used to improve scratch & abrasion resistance from 1.5% to 4%.
• The shelf life of SILMAPROCESS AP2700 is one year.

avanDISS 765 distributed by DKSH is a non-toxic, permanent and colorable anti-static for polymers with low melting point, SBS, SEBS, EVA, PP, PE. It is effective and stable under different humidity conditions.

• It is suitable for extrusion and injection process.
• It shows wide conductivity range (10⁷ to 10¹¹ ohm).
• It is used in anti-static applications like shoe, soling, electronic packaging, fitting, jerrycans, computer housing or anti-dust applications like TV and audio-visual parts.

avanSTATIC 1050 distributed by DKSH is a permanent anti-static agent for plasticized PVC and PVC/NBR blend. This product is liquid and easy to handle. It has been specially developed to provide a permanent electrical conductivity performance within the resistance range of the dissipative protection materials.

• avanSTATIC 1050 is used in applications like shoes, soling, flooring, canvas among others.
• Recommended dosage level is 1-7 phr.
• It has a shelf life of 24 months.

avanSTATIC -TPU MB distributed by DKSH is a powerful permanent, ready to use anti-static materbatch. Based on the use of functionalized silicon dioxide with ionic conductors, it is specially designed to generate not only antistatic systems but also ESD in TPU. Flexibility to get with one single product a range of conductivity between 10⁷ to 10⁹ ohm.

• It is used in polyester-based and colorable & translucent products.
