Dynamar™ FX 5911
by 3M
Dynamar™ FX 5911 by 3M is fluoropolymer-based processing aid. It improves extrusion processing of polyolefins and other thermoplastic resins, and can offer performance and cost benefits in a wide range of polymers. It is particularly useful at low levels in reducing extruder die build-up. This additive shows excellent thermal stability for high temperature processing. It is ideal for use in high viscosity, high molecular weight polyolefins. Dynamar™ FX 5911 lowers apparent melt viscosity and speeds colorant change. Also, reduces or eliminates melt fracture and can reduce extruder torque. It is used in LLDPE, LDPE, HDPE and PP. It is suitable for film, pipe and blow molding processes. This product allows for longer defect-free run times and improved gauge uniformity in cast film, BOPP processes and reduced fiber breakage in monofilament and fiber processes. Recommended for bottles, pipes and other HMW-HDPE articles with improved surface finish and quality. The typical usage level is 200-1000 ppm. It is FDA approved. The shelf life of this product is 2 years.
Viton™ FreeFlow™ Z110
by Chemours
Viton™ FreeFlow™ Z110 by Chemours is a polymer processing aid. It combines improved fluoroelastomer rheology with polyethylene glycol (PEG) as an inter-facial agent to control the particle size delivered to the die. It reduces or eliminates melt fracture, lowers extrusion pressure and reduces amperage, torque & die buildup. It enhances rates of conditioning during start-up of new formulations on clean dies or purged systems and performance on difficult lines where other process aids require high levels. It increases additive efficiency particularly on lines where frequent formula changes are made or in formulas containing multiple additives, economics and extended running time between die cleanings. It can typically reduce PEG levels in
films by a factor of 3. Viton™ FreeFlow™ Z110 is suitable for use in dosage during production of solution LLDPE (either direct or via masterbatch) and high concentration masterbatches (2 to 4% process aid), particularly with LDPE carrier. It also finds application in all extrusion processes (film, pipe) using 3 MI or more LLDPE, LLDPE/LDPE blends or mLLDPE/LDPE blends, extrusion under low shear mixing condition. It is approved for food contact uses and suitable for potable water appliances. The shelf life of this product is 4 years at storage temperature below 27°C.
Hiformer™ Non-PFAS Process Aids
by Avient (Formerly PolyOne)
Hiformer™ Non-PFAS Process Aids by Avient (Formerly PolyOne) are non-PFAS polymer process aids for extrusion in polyolefins. They reduce friction between molten polymer and metal during extrusion to eliminate melt fracture and die buildup.
- They are formulated without fluorochemicals and do not contain siloxanes.
- They are suitable for polyethylene and polypropylene.
- They reduce melt fracture (shark skin).
- They reduce die buildup (die drool).
- They improve process efficiency.
- They reduce power requirements.
- Hiformer™ Non-PFAS Process Aids offer low concentration efficiency.
- They retain ability to seal and print.
- They do not interact with other additives.
- They are suitable for blown film, profile extrusion, tubing and pipe extrusion, wire and cable, and extruded sheet.
