SUMIKASUPER LCP E5204L is a high rigidity, ultra-high heat resistant and low specific gravity thermotropic liquid crystalline polyester (LCP) grade by Sumitomo Chemical, reinforced with glass fiber or inorganic filler. Exhibits high strength, increased light transmittance, high heat aging resistance, low viscosity, high moldability, low shrinkage and low coefficient of linear expansion (flow direction). Offers high-speed setting with less flash production, high anisotropy, low weld strength, rapid solidification speed, excellent flame retardancy, low water absorbency, highest limiting oxygen index and high thermal stability. Provides outstanding chemical resistance, hot water resistance, low amount of gas generation on heating, no warpage, bondability with off-the-shelf adhesives and no surface treatment. Shows high temperature and high shear rate dependence on apparent melt viscosity. Does not expand or deteriorate when exposed to oils, even at high temperatures. Is welded with ultrasonic welding and applicable to lead-free soldering (dipping). SUMIKASUPER LCP E5204L is suitable for processing by injection molding. Used in resin terminal bobbins and lamp holders. Complies with UL 94 V-0 flame rating.
