SELVOL™ 425 by Sekisui Specialty Chemical is a white to cream colored, intermediate hydrolyzed polyvinyl alcohol (PVOH or PVA) grade available in the form of granules. It is manufactured from vinyl acetate monomer (VAM) via a multistep process. Exhibits high tensile strength, excellent adhesive & bonding characteristics and ease of film formation. Offers solubility in hot water and excellent stability to sunlight. Provides resistance to greases, petroleum hydrocarbons, animal or vegetable oils and organic solvents. SELVOL™ 425 is recommended for spun sizing and hand building in textiles & adhesives applications such as envelope, tube winding, book binding, padding, cup, cigarette fiber and carton/case sealing, surface sizing, pigment coating, creping release & grease resistant papers and speciality applications like films, ceramics, molded products and nonwovens.
