Thioplast® G44 by Nouryon is a liquid polysulfide polymer with medium-high viscosity. Contains reactive thiol-end groups. It is produced in aqueous dispersion by polycondensation of bis-(2-chloro-ethyl)-formal with alkali polysulphide. It is partially soluble in aliphatic esters and ketones. It is insoluble in water, aliphatic hydrocarbons and alcohols. Soluble in benzene, toluene, dichloroethane, chloroform & plasticizers such as phthalates and chlorinated paraffins. Thioplast® G44 is formulated as one or two component systems containing part A, the thioplast polymer and part B, the curing agent. Designed for use as a rubber modifier and in molding compounds.
