TPX™ DX231

Supplied byMitsui Chemicals- Last Updated on Dec 15, 2020

TPX™ DX231 by Mitsui Chemicals is a high modulus polymethylpentene with excellent transparency equivalent to glass and acrylic. It boasts superior releasability and is one of the lightest polymer materials among thermoplastic plastics. Recommended for extrusion coating and is also applicable for injection molding and extrusion processing by fiber spinning. Offers excellent chemical-, heat- & steam resistance and high durability against acid, alkali and alcohol. Exhibits gas permeability, low refractive index, low dielectric property and high insulation properties equivalent to fluororesin. Possesses low density as well as high melting point and can be used at high temperature. Possible applications include food containers, release film for FPC, rubber hoses and release paper for synthetic leather. TPX™ DX231 is also suitable for animal cage, resin modification, LED mold, experimental apparatuses and hollow fiber.
