APEL™ APL5014DP by Mitsui Chemicals is an amorphous, high density, norbornene-type cyclo olefin copolymer (COC) resin. Is optically isotropic, non polar and is developed using Ziegler polymerization technology. Possesses good clarity, flowability, excellent electrical insulating properties, good melt processability, excellent dimensional stability and transparency. Exhibits outstanding moisture resistance, excellent chemical-, acid-, alkali-, alcohol-, ketone-, ester-, humidity and heat resistance. Offers high glass transition temperature (Tg), exceptional moisture impermeability and impressive gas barrier qualities. Provides low coefficient of linear expansion, good thermal, dielectric & electrical behavior, low shrinkage and low moisture absorption. Is suitable for processing by injection molding or extrusion. APEL™ APL5014DP is recommended for optical parts.
