ISOLENE® 40-S by HB Fuller is a low molecular weight, non-fugitive, synthetic polyisoprene rubber crosslinked with free-radical chemistry. It is a translucent, honey-colored liquid in bulk volume and virtually clear in thin films. Exhibits colorability, clarity and solubility. It softens the resin and improves low-temperature tack & the resistance to bleed through. It acts as an efficient vehicle for powdered additives and curatives into a rubber compound. ISOLENE® 40-S can be cured with UV light or e-beam radiation in pressure-sensitive adhesives (PSA), photosensitive systems and conventional rubber curatives. Other applications include high molecular weight plasticizer, reactive plasticizer and DPR applications. It works as a rheology modifier for lubricants, polymer base for molding & tooling systems and polymer base for electrical encapsulants. It has a shelf life of 2 years.
