PA 1101 by EOS is a biocompatible, impact modified polyamide 11 (PA 11) homopolymer grade. It is made out of renewable raw material (castor oil). Exhibits good elasticity, high impact resistance, high elongation at break, and excellent resistance to chemicals such as hydrocarbons, aldehydes, ketones, mineral bases & salts. Possesses ductility, and resistance to alcohols, fuels, detergents, solvent, grease, oil, & fats. PA 1101 suitable for processing by 3D printing, additive manufacturing, laser sintering and rapid prototyping. Recommended for automotive and sports equipment. Applications include mechanically loaded functional prototypes & series parts with long-term moving elements (eg. hinges), automotive interior components for crash relevant parts, small to medium sized parts, thin walls and lattice structures. It meets the requirements of the regulation DIN EN ISO 10993-5.
