Unsaturated Polyester Resin (UPR) for Plastic Parts

Premi-Glas® 2207-25 CR-SX by LyondellBasell is a halogen-free, flame retardant, unsaturated polyester composite. It is reinforced with a mineral filler and glass fiber. It is processed by sheet or compression molding in matched metal die molds. It is suitable for use in electrical and HVAC applications. Premi-Glas® 2207-25 CR-SX complies with f1 outdoor suitability, UL File number E42524, UL-94 (5VA) and UL-94 (V0) flame rating.

Quantum QC® 8800 by LyondellBasell is an unsaturated polyester hybrid composite reinforced with 63% w/w E-glass fiber. It possesses high stiffness, fatigue resistance and high strength. It can be molded at temperatures in the range of 260-310°F, with 280°F suggested as a starting point. Its cure time depends on molding temperature and part thickness. It is processed by sheet molding. Quantum QC® 8800 has a shelf life of 2 months.

Bakelite® UP 802 by Bakelite Synthetics is a styrene-free, polyester grade reinforced with glass fiber and inorganic filler.

• It exhibits high- surface quality molding and dimensional stability, very slight post shrinkage and good mechanical properties.
• It offers increased electrical values and high arc resistance.
• It is processed by compression- and injection molding.
• Bakelite® UP 802 is recommended for ignition distributor caps, distributor fingers and spark plug connectors.

Bakelite® UP 804 by Bakelite Synthetics is a styrene-free, non-flammable polyester grade reinforced with glass fiber and inorganic filler.

• It exhibits high- surface quality molding and dimensional stability, very slight post shrinkage and good mechanical properties.
• It offers very good electrical properties, high- arc resistance and temperature stability.
• It is processed by compression- and injection molding.
• Bakelite® UP 804 is recommended for explosion proof switches, safety switch housings, telecommunications technology, electric motor clamp boards, wiring devices, housing parts, toaster panels, waffle iron covers, iron heat shield, oven strips, oven knobs and regulator knobs, neon tubes end parts and bases.

Bakelite® UP 3415 by Bakelite Synthetics is a styrene-free, non-flammable, polyester grade reinforced with glass fiber and inorganic filler.

• It exhibits very high dimensional stability, high- arc resistance, mechanical strength, mechanical properties and low shrinkage.
• It possesses relative thermal index at 170°C.
• It is processed by compression- and injection molding.
• Bakelite® UP 3415 is recommended for safety switch housings, electrotechnical parts like strip switch housings, clamp boards, bobbins, neon tubes end parts and bases.

Bakelite® UP 3620 by Bakelite Synthetics is a styrene-free, non-flammable, polyester grade reinforced with organic filler.

• It exhibits high surface quality molding.
• It is processed by compression- and injection molding.
• Bakelite® UP 3620 is recommended for lamp housings, neon tubes end parts & bases, switch gears, watt hour meters housings and base plates.

Bakelite® UP 3720 by Bakelite Synthetics is a styrene-free, polyester grade reinforced with organic filler.

• It exhibits very slight post shrinkage, very good- electrical properties, friction properties and dimensional stability.
• It offers low shrinkage and high arc resistance.
• It is processed by compression- and injection molding.
• Bakelite® UP 3720 is recommended for bearings, guide rails, crossbars, micro switches and regulator switch cylinders.

AMPAL® MPV 2500 by Raschig is a halogen-free, melamine modified polyester resin, reinforced with organic and inorganic filler. Exhibits excellent elasticity, low post shrinkage, excellent electrical values, excellent sliding behaviour and wear stability. Shows high heat- and shock resistance. Suitable for processing by injection and compression molding. AMPAL® MPV 2500 is used in molded electrical engineering parts such as circuit breakers, relays, switches and contact terminals. Conforms to requirements of the EU directives 2002/95 (RoHS), 2002/96 (WEEE), 2006/122 (PFOS) and UL-94 (V0) flame rating. It has a shelf life of 6 months.

AMPAL® MPV 2000 by Raschig is a halogen-free, melamine-modified unsaturated polyester resin reinforced with organic and inorganic filler. Exhibits low post shrinkage, excellent electrical values, high heat resistance, excellent sliding behavior and good wear stability. Suitable for processing by injection and compression molding. Polypol-1397 by Polychem Resins is a special type of unsaturated polyester resin. It features fire retardant resins. Polypol-1397 is used in fire retardant applications.
