Automotive TPEs with over 75% recycled content from KRAIBURG at PLAST 2026
Last update on May 15, 2026
Meeting sustainability and performance requirements simultaneously in TPE-based applications – particularly in automotive – remains a formulation challenge. KRAIBURG TPE is presenting its current product and service portfolio at PLAST 2026 in Milan (June 9–12, Fiera Milano), with a specific focus on a new recycling-based product range for automotive OEMs and suppliers and updates across its core market segments.
PLAST, established in 1964 as part of the European Plastics Congress, is one of Europe's longest-standing plastics trade fairs. Its three-year cycle means exhibiting companies use the platform for broad portfolio presentations rather than single-product announcements. For KRAIBURG TPE, the event also reflects an established commercial presence: Italy is the company's second-largest European market after Germany, supported by a service network covering multiple regions and industry segments, with particular depth in automotive.

Hardness range extends from 20 to 95 Shore A
The new recycling-based product range is designed for automotive OEMs and suppliers and covers a broad application scope. Some grades in the series contain over 75 percent recycled materials. The hardness range extends from 20 to 95 Shore A, with suitability documented for interior, exterior, and powertrain applications.
"We are particularly proud," says Lucia Triglia, "of the progress we have made in the areas of sustainability and recycling since the last PLAST." The range represents KRAIBURG TPE's response to increasing material specification requirements from automotive customers seeking to meet recycled-content targets without sacrificing the performance envelope required for end-use applications.
Thermoplastic Elastomer (TPE): How to select the right grade?
Beyond automotive, KRAIBURG TPE's R&D division operates across consumer, industrial, and medical technology segments. The division's scope includes the development and customized adaptation of compounds to specific customer requirements, enabling formulation responses to complex application constraints across sectors. Decades of presence across these core markets supports the development of cross-sector material synergies.
Luca Triglia, sales manager Italy at KRAIBURG TPE, explains, "For us as material experts, the main goal at PLAST is to present ourselves as a company that can always meet the increased requirements of today's markets, both regionally and globally. This of course includes the specific services we provide for our customers in our core industries. Looking at the big picture, however, we also want to emphasize general plastics topics as well as the issue of sustainability. When it comes to direct contact with our customers in the region, our exceptional commitment to service and quality is a key selling point. Our Italian partners, in particular, really appreciate the fact that we are able to provide them with personal support at every location in their country."
