It is biodegradable has a typical macrocyclic musk fragrance, soft musk-like, reminiscent of elements in ambrette seed oil, with woody, fruity, ambergris and floral shades. Ambrettolide shows good stability with body lotion, shampoo, soap, concentrated detergent powder, AP roll-on 15%, cleaner APC, cleaner citric acid and poor stability with bleaches.
