Sodium Lauryl Sulfate. STEPANOL® WA 100 by Stepan Company is a highly active anionic surfactant. It can be used as a foaming agent and mouth dispersant in dentifrices. It is biodegradable, bio-based, naturally derived and preservative-free grade. Because of its low levels of unsulfated material, it will not cause toothpaste formulations to have the bitter taste associated with other sodium lauryl sulfates.
- It is derived from the sulfation of fatty alcohol via Stepan's SO3 process.
- It is also used in bubble baths, powdered formulations such as hand cleaners and powdered baths and can be used in liquid hand soaps and shampoos.
- STEPANOL® WA 100 is Kosher certified.
