Phytosqualan®

Squalane. Phytosqualan® by Sophim is a non-greasy, biodegradable, easy to use, active emollient. It prevents TEWL and restores lipidic skin suppleness and barrier function. It is a strong carrier due to its high compatibility with skin components. It allows to develop extra soft textures and offers moisturization, elasticity to the skin, silky and velvety feel. It is a sustainable raw material and is upcycled from waste coming from the olive oil production. It is a solution for cleaner cosmetic formulas and helps to disperse pigments in make-up products. Exhibits good firmness, very good spreading & unique sensory effect and can penetrate very easily into skin. It forms a protective film on the surface of the hair and helps to maintain its hydration. It is recommended for facial- & skin care applications including repair creams for dry skin. It is suitable for oily serums for eye care, anti-aging- and mature skin formulas. It smooths and coats the hair fiber and is used in split ends, dry-, dehydrated-, curly-, colored- and straightened hair. It can also be used in dry oils in body care applications and massage oils. Designed for make-up formulations including lipsticks, mascara, cream and foundations for its slippery properties. Phytosqualan® has a shelf life of 3 years.
