Sodium Methylparaben. Acts as a preservative. Compared to parabens, the sodium salts have the advantage of being easily soluble in cold water. Sodium salts and the corresponding parabens have the same anti-microbial performance at the same pH. It is readily soluble in alcohol and organic solvents. Grades meeting USP/NF and BP/EP specifications are available.
