Imidazolidinyl Urea. Acts as a general bactericide. In particular a good inhibitor of Pseudomonas, a Gram-negative bacteria commonly found in cosmetic products. Pseudomonas are particularly dangerous in products used near the eye. It is a white free flowing powder, soluble in water but insoluble in the oil phase of emulsions. It is widely used in all types of products in the personal care industry. It is compatible with most cosmetic ingredients. Recommended addition level is 0.2-0.5% of the final product. May be used at up to 0.3% in rinse-off products in Japan with suitable labeling.
