DMDM Hydantoin. DMDMH by Sharon Laboratories acts as a preservative, formaldehyde releaser and anti-microbial agent. Used for both rinse-off and leave-on products. It is highly efficient against both gram positive and gram negative bacteria. It is compatible with most personal care ingredients and due to its high water solubility, it is added to aqueous systems without being heated, making it easy to use. DMDMH protects the products such as shampoo, hair conditioner, creams, lotions including shaving cream, other water-based cosmetics and toiletries.
