Acts as a preservative. It provides a high level of antimicrobial activity in wide range of personal care products. It is much proficient in inhibiting the growth of gram positive and gram negative bacteria, yeasts and molds. Functional at low concentrations, it is compatible with cationic, anionic and non-ionic surfactants, emulsifiers and proteins. It remains stable for long periods of time over a wide pH and temperature ranges. Used in shampoo, conditioner, rinse off products, shaving creams, lotions and gels, dusting powders, beauty masks, makeup base, body cleansing products, sunscreen lotions an oils.
