Silsoft™ 034 fluid

Caprylyl Methicone. Silsoft™ 034 fluid by Momentive Performance Materials acts as a dispersant. It is an organosilicone fluid that improves the spreadability of cosmetic oils. It is a low molecular weight, low viscosity polysiloxane modified with an octyl pendant group. This modification makes it compatible with most cosmetic oils and waxes. It allows formulations containing vegetable oils, cosmetic esters, petrolatum or mineral oil to feel less greasy. It provides uniform coverage and a non-tacky after-feel.

• It is an excellent candidate as a sensory enhancer in personal care applications.
• It imparts a silky after-feel in skin care products and reduces the rub-on time of lotions and creams.
• In color cosmetics, it significantly improves the dispersibility of inorganic pigments in formulations that contain organic oils.
• Silsoft™ 034 fluid is suitable for formulating BB and CC creams, foundations, eye shadows, eye- and lip products.
• It is used in bath and shower products, body lotions, creams and butters, cleansing oils, daily wear SPF, day and night creams, facial cleansers and make-up removers.
• It is also used in hair care products such as masks, serums and oils, and sun care products such as sunless tanners and sunscreen creams, lotions, oils and sprays.
