Isopropyl Palmitate (and) Lecithin (and) Aqua (and) Acetyl Hexapeptide-1. MELINOIL™ by Lucas Meyer Cosmetics (IFF) is a preservative free, ecofriendly, unique oil-soluble skin photoprotector. This a-MSH biomimetic peptide simulates the natural skin defense system against sun damage in order to better protect cells from UV, limiting damage associated with premature aging. It is able to bind MC1-R (MelanoCortin 1 Receptor) on both keratinocytes and melanocytes. It thus stimulates the natural cell photoprotection process to preserve skin health after repeated sun exposure. Also, stimulates the tyrosinase activity (+83%) and then the melanin production by melanocytes (+95%). DNA integrity is preserved from UVA- and UVB-induced damages, maintaining a good cell functioning. The activation of MC1-R on keratinocytes triggers an anti-inflammatory process proven by a decrease in inflammatory mediators such as IL-1a, IL-8 and PGE2. The skin is then significantly protected from the appearance of UV-induced erythema. Clear delay in the appearance of sun-induced redness attests that skin is less sensitive to UV inflammation. It is designed to be formulated in all types of oily products. MELINOIL™ is used in O/W and W/O sun care, anti-aging emulsions, day care, tan accelerator, after sun care, self-tanning, BB/DD creams, healthy glow, soothing care, anti-grey hair products and mascara for darker eyelash. It is China compliant.
