Caffeine Herbasome®

Caffeine is a natural methylxanthine alkaloid found in over 60 plants worldwide and known as a mild stimulant of the central nervous system. Moreover, caffeine is a widely used and extensively studied active ingredient in cosmetics. Especially for anti-cellulite products, slimming treatments and hair follicle stimulation, it is the active agent of choice. While the site of action for these applications is mainly located in deeper layers of the skin, the penetration of caffeine into the skin and through the epidermis is limited. To overcome such limitations we designed a multi-active complex system with liposomally encapsulated caffeine, called Caffeine Herbasome®. Caffeine Herbasome® is an innovative formulation system with caffeine from green coffee beans and niacinamide that efficiently modulates the barrier properties of the epidermis and transports its active ingredients deep into the skin.
