Niacinamide is largely safe to use; however, if you have any pre-existing allergies, it may cause an allergic reaction. It has a very low hazard rating from EWG (1) with minimal concerns for irritation, sensitization, or toxicity at typical concentrations (2-10 %; most effective at 4-5 %).
