Helianthus Annuus Seed Oil. Sunflower Wax #258 by Koster Keunen acts as a wax/ consistency factor, thickener, stabilizer and barrier. It also functions as a film former, emollient and gelling agent. It is a hard, crystalline, high melting point vegetable wax obtained through the winterization of sunflower oil. It consists of long chain, saturated C-42 to C-60 esters. It improves oil binding, hardness, texture, strength and mold release. It can be used as an alternative for rice bran wax, carnauba wax and candelilla wax. Sunflower Wax #258 is used in lipsticks, lip balm, mascaras and decorative cosmetic products. It is NPA and eco-certified. It has a shelf life of 2 years.
