C20-24 Alkyl Dimethicone. SeraSoft® SW 73 by KCC Silicone acts a SPF booster and shining agent. It is a soft wax alkylated silicone. The alkyl modification makes it more compatible with organic ingredients. It enhances softness and generates high gloss in various formulations. Due to its composition, this material is favorably used in sun-care, where it melts onto the skin for an excellent feel whilst improving the spread of actives thus potentially improving the SPF of a sun-care formulation. It offers the additional benefit of excellent shine from its high refractive index. It promoted lubricity and water barrier for the skin. It acts as detackifier in creams and lotions. SeraSoft® SW 73 is used in antiperspirant roll-ons, hand creams, body lotions, sun-care, color cosmetics, deodorants and foaming cleansers. Its high melting point makes it suitable for use in color cosmetic lip-care products.
