Imidazolidinyl Urea by Jan Dekker and distributed by IMCD is a preservative that works through the release of formaldehyde. It shows strong activity against gram-positive and gram-negative bacteria, while exhibiting weak activity against yeast and mold.
  • It possesses antimicrobial properties.
  • The production process involves the condensation of allantoin and formaldehyde in the presence of sodium hydroxide, followed by neutralization with acetic acid.
  • It is synergistic with parabens, sorbic acid, dehydroacetic acid and chelating agents (EDTA).
  • It is free from VOC, palm oil, PFAS, GMO, gluten and BSE/TSE.
  • It is used in shampoos, shower gel products, creams, and lotions.
  • Imidazolidinyl Urea has a shelf life of 24 months.
