GENENCARE® XL

Xylitol. GENENCARE® XL by IFF’s Health & Biosciences is a humectant and prebiotic moisturizer which supports microbiome profile. It is a highly purified xylitol, extracted from wood and upcycled from a paper production side stream.

• It strengthens the skin barrier by improving the composition and organization of the lipid layer, accelerating the exocytosis of lamellar bodies, and enhancing lipid fluidity.
• This polyol helps to improve skin moisturization in-vivo and to create the conditions for a healthy intimate area.
• As a prebiotic, it contributes to maintain the skin microbiome diversity and to stimulate lactate production by Staph. epidermidis.
• It instantly dissolves in water, making it easy to formulate, and its dissolution provides a cooling effect.
• It makes colorless and odorless solutions in water.
• It can be formulated using either a cold or hot process.
• It doesn't disturb emulsion stability even at high concentrations, and is compatible with most ingredients.
• GENENCARE® XL is used in skincare applications like moisturizing serums, creams, body lotions, sun care, toners, face masks, and baby creams, as well as hair care products such as shampoos and scalp treatments.
• It is also suitable for hygiene products like shower gels, wet wipes, and intimate cleansers, along with solid cosmetics, including soaps, and cooling scrubs.
• It can be used in water-based make-up formulations and contains no petrochemical solvents or harsh chemicals, and is readily biodegradable.
• It is ECOCERT, COSMOS and Natrue Approved.
