Exhibits keratolytic and exfoliating properties. Its well assessed process of controlled release greatly enhances the activity of the functional substance included and guarantees a constant and prolonged presence of glycolic acid on the skin and prevents possible irritating reactions occurring with the free form. The regular application of glycolic acid stimulates the epidermal cell turnover favoring a smoother and brighter skin appearance. The association of glycolic acid with other active substances increases their absorbance in that, similarly to the other alphahydroxyacids, it opens the tiny scales of the horny layer making possible the creation of preferential pathways utilizable by the applied substances.
