Silica Silylate. AEROSIL® R 812 by Evonik is a free-flowing, hydrophobizing, dispersing, gelling and viscosity increasing agent. It is a fumed silica treated with HMDS with high specific surface and marked hydrophobia. It offers good flowability, dispersion properties, emulsion & suspension stability and modified pay-off in stick applications. It shows improved sweat resistance in long-wearing make-up products. Moreover, it provides temperature, mechanical & storage stability and converts water or dilute aqueous solutions to a dry powder. It is suitable for dry water and powder-to cream based formulations. AEROSIL® R 812 finds application in formulating color cosmetics, antiperspirants and skin-, oral-, sun- and hair care products. The shelf life of the products is 2 years.
