2(3H)-benzofuranone, hexahydro-3,6-dimethyl-. KOUMALACTONE® 10% TEC by DSM-Firmenich acts as a fragrance ingredient. It has a coumarin, lactonic, Tonka, phenolic, very natural tobacco effect. Can be used to replace or enhance coumarin. Due to its over powering strength, it should be dosed 10 times less than coumarin. Contains no stabilizer. It shows tenacity for 1 week on a smelling strip. KOUMALACTONE® 10% TEC is used in fine fragrances, shampoo, shower gel, and soap.
