Stearoxytrimethylsilane (and) Stearyl Alcohol. DOWSIL™ 580 Wax by Dow is a non-GMO, vegan film-forming agent. It acts as a sensory enhancer and texture builder. It offers increased viscosity, low melting point, lubricity, water repellency and detackification. It provides a smooth feel, long-lasting substantivity and water wash-off. It forms non-occlusive, non-tacky, non-oily and less dry films. It is compatible with organic ingredients and enhances feel & rub out characteristics. It imparts moisturization, fragrance retention, soft feel and luster to hair sprays. DOWSIL™ 580 Wax finds application in formulating skin creams, non-lather shaving creams, hair sprays, lipsticks and color cosmetic products.
