Keldent® Xanthan Gum

Xanthan Gum. Keldent® Xanthan Gum by CP Kelco acts as a binder and thickening agent. To fine-tune the rheological properties of a formula, it can be combined with other types of binders, such as CMC or carrageenan. It is tested for cellulase enzyme activity to ensure compatibility with CMC-based toothpastes. It is completely soluble in water, even in the presence of salts. The solutions are highly shear-thinning (highly pseudoplastic), with practically no thixotropy. These characteristics are maintained in the presence of salts and surfactants. Keldent® Xanthan Gum is used in toothpaste.
