Chitosan Lactate (>1-5%), Aqua (>95–100%), Phenoxyethanol (0.24%), Methylparaben (0.05%), Ethylparaben (0.01%) and Propylparaben (0.03%). HYDAMER™ HCMS-LA/P by Chitinor (Seagarden) acts as a cationic film former and fixative agent. It is derived from marine shrimp shells through partial deacetylation of chitin. Moreover, it is an aqueous solution of chitosan in 1.2% lactic acid. It exhibits excellent repair effects on hair and treats split-ends. It is not compatible with anionic compounds and limited with systems which have to be neutralized with alkali. It is antioxidant-free, preserved with 0.35% phenonip XB and contains water as solvent. HYDAMER™ HCMS-LA/P finds application in formulating hair conditioning lotions and styling products (mousses, setting lotions & pump sprays).
